“Sweet Jane” was born on January 16, 2006 – in more ways than one!

Tess’s daughter Jane Clare arrived that day, and with her, the idea to start a dessert catering business.

Tess worked as a lawyer in New York before deciding to attend cooking school. When Tess and her husband moved to Alexandria after finding out a baby was on the way, she was disappointed that there weren’t more tasty baked goods around like she was used to in NYC. Forming a dessert catering business was the perfect way to use her culinary degree and still spend time with her own Sweet Jane.

Sweet Jane Desserts bakes up tasty, old-fashioned treats in small batches using only all-natural ingredients of the highest quality, and all organic dairy products. Custom-decorated cookies and cupcakes are our specialty, along with decadent brownies and bars, and we hand-deliver to your door in the Washington, DC area.
